WELCOME! – June 2024
Baseball is in our blood; and the infield dirt, the smell of the grass and the crack of the bat fuel us and drive us to consume more. More time on the field. More equipment. More news and stories. More – well, you get the idea. So, take a few minutes to discover all that’s new in YOUR family. And thanks for your time and patronage of Roy Hobbs Baseball!
Catching Curveballs and Babies
Ted Manos was an obstetrician, baseball player and author. He passed away earlier this year, but his book, “Baseball and Babies: My Life as a Catcher”, will certainly live on and be enjoyed by baseball fans for years to come. The book documents a unique journey, connecting the medical world with Manos’s love of baseball.

Roy Hobbs World Series #35
- Antiques division – With the potential of 2 teams set, we plan to run the 80s simultaneously during Week 5 with the 75s, but as a separate division. Games will be at the same time in both divisions, for the most part, so crossover between the divisions is not an option. Roy Hobbs will be in touch with all 79+
players regarding these plans and the development of teams 3 & 4. Antiques will be guaranteed 6 games, and we will have playoffs, treating the division as an AA entity.
- Women’s division – Dates are set … November 22-24.
- RHWS registration elements – Team registrations are being emailed starting this week. Roy Hobbs will follow with Free Agents, Locker Room and practice field registration forms starting July 9. 2024 final invoices will be emailed in mid-July. Team COI deadline is August 1.
- RHWS field update – Click here to see the updated field in each division.

Thanks for subscribing and Play Ball!
The crack of a bat; the smell of freshly mowed grass in the outfield; the pop of the ball in your glove. You found it again as an adult in Roy Hobbs Baseball. So if you know someone who’s still sitting in the stands get them back on the field. Send them our newsletter and tell them Roy has a spot on his roster.
