June 2020: Welcome!! We love that you’re a member of the Roy Hobbs Baseball Family!
Baseball is in our blood; and the infield dirt, the smell of the grass and the crack of the bat fuel us and drive us to consume more. More time on the field. More equipment. More news and stories. More – well, you get the idea. So, take a few minutes to discover all that’s new in YOUR family. And thanks for your time and patronage of Roy Hobbs
Baseball!

ROY HOBBS RACISM POLICY REITERATED: The issue of systemic racism has kicked Covid-19 off the front page and now confronts us every day. Over the years, Roy Hobbs Baseball has been clear that racist behavior, symbols or language are unacceptable at its events. We have maintained that by setting standards that welcome all races, creeds, nationalities and personal beliefs, setting standards for our event staff and modeling those standards through our daily behavior. Nothing has changed in our policy.
Roy Hobbs President, Tom Giffen, speaks more about this on his blog

ROY HOBBS WORLD SERIES 2020 & COVID-19
RHWS 2020 plans continue to move forward barring any future setbacks by Lee County officials. Simply put – if the fields are open, we will play. The safety of our employees and our guests/players are still foremost in our minds and actions; therefore, all necessary precautions suggested by the medical community will be in effect for all weeks of the World Series. We ask that everyone involved be patient and compliant so as to make all feel welcome and comfortable. Updates will come as we receive them. See you on the ball
fields!
WORLD SERIES ACCOMMODATIONS ASSISTANCE
Our current agreement with the Lee County Housing Bureau to help players find lodging for our events is a mutually beneficial assistance program. It helps out Roy Hobbs when you use their services, so PLEASE use the Housing Bureau as your source for lodging recommendations. Thank you!

SUNSHINE CLASSIC 2021
We are excited to announce the dates for the Sunshine Classic next year. Just a reminder– invitations go out in September, the space is limited and NO team is guaranteed a spot. So, do NOT make any arrangements that cannot be undone. The dates below are tentative as they have not been officially approved; however, we do not expect any issues with these dates.
NOTE that we will have a 50+ AND a new 55+ , as well as 2 separate 60s events. Another reminder– except for the 35s division, the age minimums for
underage players is moving up to only 2 years underage.
The full list of divisions/dates are on our website under the event tab.
IMPORTANT NOTE: MANAGERS MUST SEND A REQUEST TO ROB GIFFEN VIA EMAIL TO GET ON THE INVITATION LIST! The initial invitations will be sent to all returning teams in good standing with RHBB.
WE’VE BEEN GETTING QUESTIONS ALREADY ABOUT FREE AGENTS FOR THIS EVENT – LOOK FOR THE LINK ON OUR WEBSITE TO BE ACTIVE SOMETIME DURING THE MONTH OF

ROY HOBBS™ BASEBALL WELCOMES NOKONA™ GLOVES.
Nokona™ Baseball has graciously agreed to add Roy Hobbs™ branding to a limited line of baseball gloves.
The branding starts today with the introduction of the inaugural NRH-1200, a versatile 12-inch glove that is adaptable to several positions in the infield, outfield and, even on the mound.
Click on the Nokona™
logo to check out these NRH-1200 gloves.
The Nokona™ gloves, hand-crafted in the USA, follow the Roy Hobbs™ Made in the USA line. That line was discontinued by the manufacturer in the spring of 2019, and we have been looking for a replacement since, with the understanding that any Roy Hobbs-branded gloves had to have a USA imprint on them. That led us to Nokona, with whom we have been talking since last September.
The Nokona™-Roy Hobbs™ NRH-1200 glove is hand-crafted in the USA from Nokona’s full-grain, US Steerhide and provides a rich, burnished Walnut Crunch™ color with a traditional baseball look. Break-in is minimal.
Roy Hobbs™ still has some of its Made in the USA line available, although limited; 90% of the remaining stock is for left-handed throw players.
