Dick Hill is on a mission. He wants to raise the funds to have lights installed at a baseball diamond in his home state of Maine. The way he is going about getting the money to make this a reality has an interesting baseball twist to it.

Roy Hobbs World Series #34

A total of 305 teams have paid the non-refundable deposit to reserve a place in the 2022 Roy Hobbs World Series.

As a result, 53s are sold out at 74 teams, Week 4 with 60s & 70s is sold out with 87 teams, and currently we have 64 reservations in 45s.  There is space to spare in 35s and 65s and we will take more 75s as long as we can get 2 teams at a time.

The 2002 RHWS process marches on …

* Team and player registration links were distributed to reserved teams in June.

* Coming to royhobbs.com landing page …

* Practice Field forms will be posted this week.

* Locker room information & registration links will be posted by July 15

* Free agent registration links will be posted no later than July 15.

* Final invoices will be
emailed no later than the week of July 25, if not earlier.

* Payment deadline to get the $500 RHWS discount is August 26 – that is a hard and fast date.

80s looking like a reality

Roy Hobbs plans a series of 3 exhibition games for players 79 and older during Week 5 (65s & 75s) of the 2022 event.

Registration will start in late August.  We are convinced there are enough players, so when we get 24 registrations, we are a go.  One
manager contacted us to say he had 11 players ready to go … could we have more than 2 teams?

 The goal is to play 3 games: Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday mornings, 7-innings games, limiting pitchers to 3 innings each to keep their 75s managers happy.

Roy Hobbs will supply jerseys & hats – Knights & Oilers.  Charge will be $15 a player to cover umpires, baseballs, hats to keep, etc.  We have 2 volunteers to manage 2 teams.
