RHWS REGISTRATION EXCEEDS 300 TEAMS
A record 300+ teams have pre-registered and been invoiced for the 2021 Roy Hobbs World Series, eclipsing the 2019 high-water mark of 271 teams.
This creates a number of challenges, especially in scheduling week 4 with 84 60-70s teams.
A link to the field list of teams is on royhobbs.com landing page.
Player registration opens August 1 when the link on manager’s team pages is activated.
Free Agents and Locker Room
Both Free Agent and Locker Room registrations are open.
1. Marc Landals has been added to our staff to handle event operations, registration and office management. Currently our umpire-in-chief, he has been with us on a part-time basis for a number of years and is very familiar with our guidelines and rules.
2. Karen Marcinkoski, a.k.a. M&Ms lady, has resigned her position as Roy Hobbs administrative assistant as her responsibilities as her mother’s caregiver are taking more and more of her time. Karen’s contributions are numerous, especially in regard to player registration and organization of check-in, awards, and insurance services. Karen was also a driving force behind the Spring Dinger event. Obviously, she will be missed.
4. There is one change to Roy Hobbs Eligibility guidelines for the World Series: Rosters are limited to 25 participants.
5. Roy Hobbs will not have dates for the 2022 Sunshine Classic or 2022 Spring Dinger until sometime in September, when field owners approve date requests.
Hall of Fame Update
The balloting for the Roy Hobbs Hall of Fame Class of 2021 is under way. Hall of Fame members will be voting the first week of August, and it takes a 70% vote for election. There are 71 eligible voters.
