ROY HOBBS WORLD SERIES #32 – OUTSIDE THE WHITE LINES
RHWS 2020 plans continue to move forward. Simply put – if the fields are open, we will play. The safety of our employees and our guests/players are still foremost in our minds and actions. RH President, Tom Giffen shares his plans on his latest BLOG POST.

RHWS FREE AGENT LIST IS ONLINE

NEW PLAYER CHECK IN PROCEDURES FOR THIS YEAR’S WORLD SERIES
PLEASE NOTE: There will be a couple significant changes to this year’s Player Check-In that will enable us to more smoothly and safely get our players through the gate. The latest blog by Tom contains more information so be sure to read it (above).
- We will NOT be requiring each player to have $1 when they check in; managers will be paying a set fee for their team upon
their check in. Players should make arrangements to reimburse the manager if need be.
- HOUSING FORMS usually filled out when players receive their Welcome Bags will be filled out either using the pdf provided HERE to print and bring to the table with them at check-in OR filled out in line before checking in using provided sheets and pens while in line.
Stay tuned for more updates
as we move forward. Visit the Roy Hobbs Dugout Facebook page or subscribe to Tom’s Blog for the most current information.
SUNSHINE CLASSIC 2021- UPDATE
We have set the dates for the 2021 Sunshine Classic, with an expanded lineup of age groups and potential additional dates. Ordinarily, invitations go out in September, as space is limited and NO team is guaranteed a spot.
However, the uncertainty of Covid-19 and the rules and guidelines Roy Hobbs will have to follow from Lee County will force us to DELAY invitations until we know exactly what we can and cannot do. Please DO NOT make any arrangements that cannot be rescinded. The
dates are tentative until they get official approval from Lee County. We do not expect any issues with these dates, we just have concerns about what services we can and cannot offer in 2021.
The full list of dates and divisions can be seen HERE>
NOTE that we will have a 50+ AND a new 55+ , as well as 2 separate 60s events. Another reminder– except for the 35s division, the age minimums for underage players is moving up to only 2 years underage.
IMPORTANT NOTE: MANAGERS MUST SEND A REQUEST TO ROB GIFFEN VIA EMAIL TO GET ON THE INVITATION LIST! The initial invitations will be sent to all returning teams in good standing with RHBB.
WE’VE BEEN GETTING QUESTIONS ALREADY ABOUT FREE AGENTS FOR THIS EVENT – LOOK FOR THE LINK ON OUR WEBSITE TO BE ACTIVE SOMETIME DURING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER.

ROY HOBBS™ BASEBALL WELCOMES NOKONA™ GLOVES.
Nokona™ Baseball has graciously agreed to add Roy Hobbs™ branding to a limited line of baseball gloves.
The branding starts today with the introduction of the inaugural NRH-1200, a versatile 12-inch glove that is adaptable to several positions in the infield, outfield and, even on the mound.
Click on the Nokona™
logo to check out these NRH-1200 gloves.
The Nokona™ gloves, hand-crafted in the USA, follow the Roy Hobbs™ Made in the USA line. That line was discontinued by the manufacturer in the spring of 2019, and we have been looking for a replacement since, with the understanding that any Roy Hobbs-branded gloves had to have a USA imprint on them. That led us to Nokona, with whom we have been talking since last September.
The Nokona™-Roy Hobbs™ NRH-1200 glove is hand-crafted in the USA from Nokona’s full-grain, US Steerhide and provides a rich, burnished Walnut Crunch™ color with a traditional baseball look. Break-in is minimal.
Roy Hobbs™ still has some of its Made in the USA line available, although limited; 90% of the remaining stock is for left-handed throw players.
