Roy Hobbs Baseball is adult amateur recreation baseball, servicing more than 750 teams, leagues and some 10,000 players across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and in Europe.
Roy Hobbs Baseball is people who love the game of baseball and have determined that anyone can play the greatest of America’s team sports … regardless of age.
Divisions
Roy Hobbs’ current national tournament play is in these age groups:
• Veterans 35-and-over, with a limited number of players 30-34
• Masters (45-and-over)
• Legends (53-and-over)
• Classics (60-and-over)
• Vintage (65-and-over)
• Timeless (70-and-over)
• Forever Young (75-and-over)
• Women’s Division (open age group)
• Family Ties (father-son)
Signature Event
The annual World Series in Fort Myers/Lee County, Florida, at the spring training homes of the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox, historic Terry Park, site of MLB spring training from 1925 through 1987, and the Player Development Complex, which is now the year-round home of Roy Hobbs Baseball. Roy Hobbs Baseball and Lee County officials have agreements in place to keep the World Series in Lee County through 2024.
The World Series in Fort Myers has grown from the 54 teams in 1993 to the current 290 (2021), with more than 5,000 participants in 2021, when champions were crowned in 25 divisions and more than 1,000 games were played.
Other events
…include the Sunshine Classic, which consists of 5-6 weeks of 4-5 day events in February and March at the Player Development Complex. The events include Father-Son and age level competition for 35+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+ and 70+. The events are capped at 12-14 teams. The Sunshine Classic is a classic locker room event, with full service locker room, complete in hydrotherapy tubs, trainers, laundry services and the like … plus a full service buffet lunch each day.
There is also the Sea Otter Baseball Festival over July 4 weekend in Monterey, California. Additional event expansion to additional cities is under consideration.
