RHWS 2024 Underage Guidelines
At the 2024 Roy Hobbs World Series, there are no underage players in Masters, Legends, Classics and Vintage divisions. Minimums are: Masters 45, Legends 53, Classics 60 & Vintage 65.
Other divisions are allowed underage players; see list below for age guidelines.
- Veterans Division: Players must be 35. (Teams allowed 5 players, age 30 to play; but MUST be 35 within calendar year to pitch.)
- Timeless Division: Players must be 70. (Teams allowed 2 players, age 69, no position restrictions on 1, second player must be a catcher, but may not play any other defensive position. He may not be in starting offensive lineup, but he can bat in a shared position which will ALTERNATE.)
- Forever Young Division: Players must be 75. (Teams allowed 3 players, ages 74 including 1 as young as 70, but that player must be a catcher and may not play any other defensive position. He may not be in starting offensive lineup, but he can bat in a shared position which will ALTERNATE.) 1 74-yo may pitch but must be declared before play starts.
NOTE: Roy Hobbs anticipates eliminating underage players in 70s for 2025 and reducing the number of underage players in 75s to 2 total. - 80s Division: Players must be 79 within calendar year. (75 year old catchers will be allowed.)
- Women: Minimum age in Women’s Division is 14; however, all players who have not reached their 18th birthday must have a waiver of liability from their parents along with a guarantee of who will be responsible for those players during the event.
Adult ladies are welcome in the men’s competition with age minimums of 30 in the Veterans, 40 in Masters, 45 in Legends, 50 in Classics, 55 in Vintage. This is reviewable on a case-by-case basis.
(Notes: Roy Hobbs Baseball reserves the right to adjust the underage policy for all divisions at its discretion. Roy Hobbs’ age requirements are based on calendar year; therefore, RHWS participants must be of required division age prior to midnight on December 31 of the current year.)
